Pronounced SARK-oh-SOOK-us, its name means "flesh crocodile emperor". Sarcosuchus was 37 to 40 feet long, had a 5 1/2-foot-long head with 4-foot jaws. Weighing in at around 17,600 pounds — that is about 1-1/2 times the weight of an African elephant.
