This is usually a very quiet little website but…
Last Blog I mentioned the new crop of members who join to post advertizing recommendations to products they feel are of interest to you all. BY now everyone has probably read the warning attached to the Rules which reads:
- WARNING -Please be aware that Membership does not give you the right to post adds, pictures or links to adds or web pages or the like which have not been approved by Prehistorics Illustrated. If your purpose in becoming a Member here at Prehistorics Illustrated is to post adds which are not approved by Prehistorics Illustrated than it is better that you not join at all. This is a website for the enjoyment of dinosaurs, ancient life, extinction, the prehistoric world and related subjects, these subjects may be considered as approved by Prehistorics Illustrated. If you have a question about your intended posting you may email this website for confirmation of approval or denial of the proposed posting.
So if adds, pictures or links to adds or web pages or the like are posted which are not in harmony with these subjects they will be removed without notice and a warning issued to the posting member. If this continues the member may placed on probation or be immediately removed from membership at the discretion of Prehistorics Illustrated staff or administration. If you wish to post your commercial adds and posts on Prehistorics Illustrated you may contact the website to purchase advertising space.
This website is private properly and hence any form of censorship is allowed at the discretion of Prehistorics Illustrated - you agree not to consider this website a forum for free speech if Prehistorics Illustrated considers it to break the rules."
I was hoping that these members would have taken the warning seriously and followed the rules but it seems to be not so.
I have taken action against certain members with warnings to each one. I have also had to issue additional warnings and in one case have followed through the warning and finally banned them from access here as a member with it's privileges.
I want to reiterate Prehistoric Illustrated's policy here of not allowing the posting of content which is not in accordance with the Prehistorics Illustrated website rules, specifically adds and links to commercial interests which are not specifically OK'd by Prehistorics Illustrated.
I am open to those who want to advertise legitimately on this website and who make arrangements with Prehistorics Illustrated for their advertising campaign but not to those who take advantage of the goodwill and trust of this free website to SPAM and use up resources that are meant to be used for the education and enjoyment of dinosaurs and prehistoric themes.
I will continue to remove adds I consider SPAM adds from this point henceforth.
As for the rest of you who visit here and follow the rules, contribute good things, questions and comments …and really you are the reason this website continues to exist, please go about PREHISTORICS ILLUSTRATED and make happy and enjoy yourselves. Thank you very much.
