Restricting Forum Participation
Lately, as you have read in my blog, I have mentioned the Spammers and those who have thought they were free to post to the Forum their commercial adds with links to pages where readers of their posts could go to buy their advertised wares.
I have thought it unfortunate that I have had to become actively involved in warning and banning members who have been continuing this practice. There has also been a problem with guests (non-members) doing the same kind of spamming.
Up till now it has been a policy of this website to allow anyone to post to the forums. That policy has now changed. Members will continue to be able to post to the Forums according to the guidelines of this website but guests will be restricted to Guestbook entries and comments to the content pages.
I am hoping that further restrictions will not be necessary. Those restrictions would probably be to restrict comments on content to members only.
